New experience with the Glock trigger

Recommended Posts

I will say this first. I am one of those people who loves the trigger pull on glocks. The g19 is my edc so I am very fond of it. I was at the range today and made the mistake of shooting my g19 after shooting two 1911s. I could still hit what I was aiming at with the g19, but after those 3 1/2 pound triggers on the 1911s the glock felt like a workout. I had never experienced that before. That is the last range trip that they take together and the g19 is still the edc. Wow!

Now I see why some people hate glock triggers. I have owned the g19, g26 and g36 and today was the first time that I felt how heavy the trigger pull his.

Yea they heavy are compaired to a 1911, but you are compairing apples to oranges. For me, the standard Glock 5lb trigger is perfect for carry. I did put a 3.5lb in my Glock 17 that I target shoot with.

I love the 5 lb trigger on my G23. It make me feel like I have to consciously wanna pull it. I know that sounds stupid, and it probably is, but it's what goes through my head.

I know that I was comparing apples to oranges. As I stated it was just suprising how much difference that pound and a half makes. I still love those glocks. I think that they are perfect (pun intended). I have had many arguments in defense of the glock trigger and will continue to carry my g19. I simply did not expect the feel to be on totally different ends of the spectrum. I had fired 1911s before, but I had never shot them on the same day that I had shot a glock.

If you'd like, I'll take you to the range and you can shoot my work gun. You'll renew your appreciation of the Glock trigger! :yum:
