I really like the P-64's. Once you do the little trigger trick they are very nice guns. AIM has started selling the P-83 which was the follow up to the P-64. thought it's not C&R.

Nice. I don't know why I never picked one up. Maybe in a few weeks when I'm un-broke again I should grab one before you guys get them all!

Enlighten me, please. I'm not familiar with the P64. The one I just ordered will be my first.

Very nice, but I really wish you hadn't posted that picture. Thought I had already convinced myself one of these was not needed.

There will be a discussion and battle of wills between me, myself and I tonight.

I've read about the heavy DAO trigger pull and have ordered some Wolff springs. The one I got in today has me worried. When in DAO, the trigger almost feels stuck. With a LOT of effort you can get it to start moving back, and once it starts moving back, it's smooth even though it's heavy. Is it normal for the trigger to feel like it's stuck before you get it to start moving to the rear? I'm hoping the new springs will help with this. I'm new to this model gun. Someone help me out here.

I have only shot one mag full through one of these before but it was very accurate and would make a handy little carry piece.

I'm sure the DA pull is stout, it usually is on this type of gun. Have you stripped it and cleaned all the cosmoline out yet? If it's coated in that heavy grease that will have some effect on it too. I would disassemble the whole thing and soak the parts in mineral spirits or something to make sure it's nice and clean.

Thanks. I might try that. There was no visible cosmoline on it. I did a basic field strip and cleaned it like you would any other pistol. There may be a need to do what you suggested.

Yep. Maybe find someone else without a C&R and see if you can buy them at the same time. That way you can save a buck or two on shipping to the FFL dealer in your area. That's about the only way you could do it. In the mean time, get the ball rolling on getting your C&R license!! :D

Update - I soaked it overnight in mineral spirits. Cleaned it up today and re-lubed it. That got rid of the "stuck" feeling. Now it just has the standard heavy trigger pull. When the new Wolff springs decide to show up, I'll post an update.

Still not got the one in I ordered from Royal Tiger. Had some issues with my FFL being on file (mailed to them months ago) but hopefully that is resolved now. I decided to order a 2nd one and it came from SOG today. It appears to be in unissued condition and came with a new black holster. The trigger is horrible and wants to stick just before the hammer falls. I'll get some mineral spirits and try soaking it tomorrow. Will upload some pics in the next day or two.

I don't want to do anything illegal, just didn't realize if someone buys 2 they cant sell one if they wanted to a private individual. So I will get the ball rolling in the next couple of weeks on the C&R. I like this gun style and I have a little bit of Polish in me so I thought it would be cool to own one... COOP

Someone with a C&R may sell a gun from their collection to an individual. However, you can't order one with that intention. It's a big no-no. If I have mine for a while then decide I need money or just don't like it, I could sell it to you, but I couldn't just order one for you.

According to an email I received last night, SOG is no longer shipping P-64's with holsters. The pistol will ship with two magazines and a cleaning rod.

OK, so if some one buys one and they decide to sell it just let me know, I think that is legal? COOP
