Good luck, dude. If it was math or english, I might could help, but I hate sciences with a passion!

I have a friend with a PhD in Chemistry to which I direct such questions. I know what covalent and ionic bonds are, and I know what double and triple bonds are, but I don't recall the "Lewis Structure". .... Ok - Google has educated me on the Lewis Structure, which seems simple enough assuming you know all that electron valence stuff, which I don't really remember.

I assume this is for school? Professor/Instructor of no help? Graduate assistants? Classmates (study groups?) Google?

There is a member here who goes by the moniker ChemProf. But unless he would volunteer info, it might be as polite as emailing a doctor one doesn't know for medical advice. :poop: Am not real savvy on what is and is not polite.

I'd be MORE than happy to assist you in any way I can. Sorry that I'm just now finding your post. Feel free to PM me with any chemistry questions you have. As my profile name suggests, I LOVE (& teach) chemistry!

I am taking an online chemistry class and needed help with just the buiding the Lewis Structure part. For instance, it will give me CCl4 and I have to build it with either the dot structure or the line bond one. I know how to do the easy ones, but with the harder ones I am not so sure about. I can come up with some examples. My chemistry lab thing has a bonding experiment that is "supposed" to take three weeks, but I finished week 1 yesterday. Its just the actual building of the Lewis Structure that I need help with.

LOL!!! ONLY on a gun forum in Tn can you get instruction in Chemistry..

Most of you guys know I'm a transplant from the deep south. I remember all the jokes about "ignorant hillbillies" etc... Then I had a conversation with a fella in Tn that spanned latin, german and english on varying subjects.. I thought..yep..this is the place for me.
