Wolf Ammo Problem

I broke in a new Armalite AR15 and had fired about 50 more rounds when a spent case fused in the barrel and needed an exact-fitting .223 rod and a five pound mallet to dislodge it.

I have 1,000 rounds of this cr@p. Anyone want to have a competition to see how well it floats on the Tennessee River? To make it fair we would have to remove the cartridges from the boxes as they may skew the results.:hiding:

I shot at least 2-3K of Wolf through my Bushmaster. That happened to me once. I used a wooden rod and a hammer to get it unlodged. I like Wolf because it's cheap. Cheap ammo is probably more likely to have some sort of failure than good ammo. Nature of the beast.

I'll take it before you throw it away ... seriously! I love that stuff for plinking. I've never had a problem. People who do have problems in an AR, usually find out it is the extractor that needs upgrading. Probably a good idea to upgrade the extractor no matter what ammo you use. AR's are about the only guns I've heard about that have extraction problems with Wolf and it is usually a case of extractor, headspace, or chamber tolerances.

Is your rifle barrel marked .223 or 5.56 NATO?

One round failure does not sound like a trend. I've not shot that much but my AR has had no failures with it.

Don't leave a round in the chamber after the gun gets hot. I've shot thousands of rounds in my Bushmaster and the only time they got stuck was when leaving one in the chamber after a couple of mag dumps.

Shoot the Wolf WET.....!

Yes yes yes! I had the same problem as the OP in one of my ARs. Took it to my 'smith. He told me to run it very wet and I should be fine. Haven't had an issue since.
