Have you checked the stuff at Primary Arms? They have alot of different optics at really good prices. Then there's the NC Star stuff. Mostly Chinese stuff but cheap prices and good enough to punch paper. Sorry I didn't post a link but they are not site sponsers.

They are getting hard to find, but the Bushnell Holosight is made by EOTech and costs around $250 or less. They have been discontinued, so you'll have to look for one. I have an Aimshot reflex sight that is OK that but not great. Price was around $100. It broke about a year after I got it, but Aimshot in Atlanta was great about fixing it for free.

Primary Arms is the way to go. I have a Vortex SPARC and I really like it. Vortex Strikefire also gets a lot of positive reviews. The Vortex's also come with mounts and all the necessary hardware that you usually have to buy separate. Stay away from the Sig T1 clone IMO.

the primary arms m3 an m4 get great reviews on ar forums. the vortex do also. i am seriously considerin the primary arms m4. it seems to be the way to go for a hundred dollars. just my .02 cents.

the bushnell holosight is awesome for the money but like above stated. they are hard to find.

still open to opinions myself also??

If your going to spend $250, you might as well buy a used EOtech and get a good, durable sight when its over and done with. I'm pretty certain I saw a used 5.12 A65 for $309 just the other day. The EOtech will outlast three of the chinese NC Star red dots and in the long run, you'll get what you paid for.

the one i was lookin at is like 100. i just cant justify spendin 3-4 on a plinker. if i were in the military or gonna hunt with it i would justify it but not just as a range gun.

if i were gonna spend 250 i prolly put 150 more an get a eotech or aimpoint.

+1 for both the used Eotech & Primary Arms clones suggestions. At any given time you will find several Eotechs for sale on the major gun forums. I bought one on ARFCOM for $270 that looks like it never came out of the box (or he just took really good care of it).

I also have one of the Primary Arms M3 clones that I think is going for around $70 on their website. I've had it on an AK & an AR and it's worked perfectly. When I got the Eotech, I tossed the clone around my carpeted living room several times for giggles to see if I could break it. All I ended up doing was putting a couple scratches on my walls as it liked to roll & bounce in unpredictable directions. Still works 100% and no dents/scratches. Here is a youtube vid where a guy tossed one of their micro clones around on concrete:

Primary Arms is the way to go. I have bought several items from them. Best prices, best customer service. It is a no brainer. I check them first. If they have what i want, i buy it from them. Period.

If you dont want a PA red dot, the Burris xts-135 $200 and the Millet Zoom dot $250 are nice. As said, the Bushnell is holosight is a good choice. Some shooters like the vortex strikefire.

Dont get the no name clones. Go with Primary Arms first.

Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to order the M4 from Primary Arms. It will fit the bill for what I am looking for.

Is Primary Arms the company that has a lot of AR scopes and accessories at the gun shows?
