Just got off work in time to watch round 9 of Formula I from Spain!

They actually have to make right turns. Auto racing at it's finest.

Go Team Ferrarri! :)

Did you catch any of the Austrailian V8 Supercars races following F1? Best (car) racing on TV. The leaders do tend to disappear, but instead of having to watch one car ride around by itself (F1), they actually show the guys racing hard back in the pack.

No. Haven't seen it listed. I only get local channels, no Speed channel. I only get to see the F-1 if nothing "more important" is on the channel, like Atlanta baseball, weed hockey, tennis, Euro "football", underwater basket weaving, etc.

Don't know what race you were watching but they spent most of the time watching the racing for 2nd-9th in yesterdays F1 race. They would occasionally flash to Vettel 14 seconds ahead looking bored but that was about it. Sauber (sp) went from I think it was 9th to 7th in the last lap. He took one position on the last turn before the finish.

Actually, I spent most of the time chasing my 2 yr old around the house.

I did see Kobyashi's charge on the last couple laps, and it was quite impressive.

Though instead of following that and seeing his last turn heroics live, we got to watch Vettle cruise around and wave at the crowd. :snore: That's what bugs me to death. There will be some awesome battle raging back in the field in the closing laps and the TV people think we'd rather watch the leader ride around on auto-pilot and win by 15 seconds. :D

Yep. Kobyashi drives the Sauber car which is what I was referring to. It's to be expected that even if he's 14 seconds ahead they're going to watch the winner go across the line. You'll see the same thing in V8 supercars or any other kind of racing. The bad part is with the lead Vettel had they still could have gone to Kobayashi before he made that last pass. I don't think they thought he would be able to make the pass before the finish because the announcers were surprised he was ahead of Buemi when they came down the straight. I can relate to the chasing the 2 year old thing as well. I have a 2 and a 5 year old. I didn't get to watch the race until about lap 40 or so. :D

best thread on this site. im so mad i missed this race. i am hoping SPEED replays it in the next few days. its crazy the technology that is in F1 allows a driver to walk away from a crash like that instead of dying like in NASCAR when you hit a wall. F1 truly is the pinnacle of motorsports and is so exciting. i cannot wait till it comes back to the US in 2011

I wish Nashville hadn't lost their Indy car race...just don't care much for NASCAR anymore.

But I did enjoy the IRL race at the super speedway.
