First off, I apologize if this has been posted before. I'm new and was unable to find this subject using the search function.

My question is, do any of you on here conceal a full-size Walther P99. I recently purchased one and was hoping to get some insight from you on the best way to conealed carry one of these guns.

Thanks in advanced

Garrett

Bigger shirts and/or IWB?

I carry a Beretta 96 with the thicker slide OWB with one-size-over short sleeve button-downs untucked, usually black or blue, and I've never been "caught."

I carry one. I use either a D.M. Bullard Dual Tuck if I'm carrying IWB or a Raven Concealment Phantom LC if I'm wearing a jacket.

I used to now I carry a HK45 or HK USP C 45 both bigger guns. The holster is what makes all the differance. I really like the Crossbreed IWB holsters. You can adjust the depth the holster sits at and the cant. The biggest key to hiding a gun like the P99 is canting the weapon so that the butt runs more verticle up and down your side. This breaks up the print. People notice the butt if its sticking out the back they don't notice if its in line with your body. Plus with a crossbreed holster you can tuck in your shirt. It allows for a more varied wardrobe.

Used to carry one. Mostly OWB in a Hoffner's Hybrid warrior and a Don Hume JIT. The JIT works really well for a low price holster. With a good belt it held the light P99 high and tight. A normal untucked shirt covered it better than most other guns due to it's size and shape. They are very similar in size to a Glock 19, so a lot of the same G19 holster recommendations work well for the P99. As thin as they are just about any good IWB holster should work as well. The thing i liked about the P99 was the bottom of the grip handle is curved and rounded so they don't print nearly as bad as some of the more traditional squared but guns.

I sometimes carry mine, when I do I either use my Bianchi Carrylok or a Fobus holster. No big deal, it is a mid-size semi-auto at best!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking at the cross-breed. Need to get my concealed permit before I worry about it to much

Wardamneagle-

Good choice on the P99 (I think). I recently purchased a P99 AS in .40. Have been so busy I haven't even been able to get to the range.

Which did you select??

I've got S&W's 990L fullsize in .40 which is pretty much the same gun. The set up I've been using to carry is nothing more than a cheap soft holster belted on in a crossdraw position at 11:00. During cooler weather just a jacket is all that's necessary to conceal but the summer brings it's challenges. When it's warmer I usually just wear oversized shirts untucked. I make sure they have some kind of pattern to break up any profile the gun has. It's worked for the past two years with no problems of being spotted.....I think, no one's mentioned anything to me anyway. When I first started carrying I bought a few holsters but was seeing a pattern developing in becoming a holster collector. I've got a couple in the drawer that I thought would be great but was sadly dissappointed. I just can't do the IWB carry. Maybe with a smaller handgun but not a fullsized one, but that's just me. I think the majority of folks carry IWB.

High Noon makes several different types of holsters that are popular for the P99's. I have carried both the full size and the P99c AS in .40. They're really nice guns.

I don't carry a P99, but I do carry fullsize guns. If you wanna do it, it can be done.
