cant log-in on front page

When I go to the main page and try and login at the very top, It always tells me my username or password is wrong, and i have to type it again on the new page, then it will log me in.

it does this every time, and i am not typing anything wrong.

Also when i type my password in on that front page, it shows the charactors instead of *

What browser are you using? What OS? Have you cleared your browser cookies?

IE 7, XP, yes

it does this each and every time i try to login from the page (multiple times a day)

Things to check: Any antispyware or antivirus software that may be blocking our session cookies from being written. Browser security settings prohibiting the same.

100% of the time this boils down to something on the client side (i.e. your computer) as that is where login information and session information are retained. I wish I could help beyond that, but I can't troubleshoot your computer for you. Sorry.

ya, i will have to check and see if it works from my home computer. i am on my work computer (ei, full of crap i dont have authorization to change), but i never had this problem before the recent tgo change, so i wasnt sure if i was the only one or not, but i guess so. i will let you know when i try it from home and can dink around with mroe stuff.

If you click on a forum or post from the main page does it show you as being logged in?

I can log in via the main page OK, but it makes me log in every time, whereas the other pages on the site seem to know I'm logged in already.

nope im not already logged in. every time i leave tgo i get logged out due to security settings at work.

forgot to check it at home last night. will try to remember tonight
