Training Opportunities in East Tennessee?

Hi guys.

I live in Knoxville, and I'm becoming interested in taking some classes to becoming a more proficient shooter. I have a carry permit, but no formal training beyond that.

Aside from the classes offered at Coal Creek (where I took my carry permit class, and have no problem with taking some of the other classes offered there), are there any places in East Tennessee where I could take some defensive or practical handgunning classes? Shotgun-based classes might be fun also.

Thanks.

I found this website about training in Greenville. I've never tried it, but I might someday. His credentials look pretty impressive.

Austin's Tennessee Firearms in Oak Ridge offers several classes at various times throughout the year. The crew there is top notch.

I keep forgetting about Austin's. I've never been out there, I guess that's why.

Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks for the plugs bklem18 and mikedwood. Yeah, eyescream, check out the website at Firearms Classes or stop by the office/shop 2pm-7pm Tues through Fridays or Saurdays noon-5pm.

Congratulations on your desire to train above and beyond the avg. permit holder. One of the things I tell all of my handgun permit students is that "if you think that this TN Handgun Carry Permit class will allow you to survive an armed and possibly lethal confrontation unscathed either physically, emotionally or financially then you have another thing coming!"

BTW eyecream, PM sent.
