I can pretty much always understand what your trying to get across, Strel. Like everyone has already said on this post, the main reason you get flamed so often is simply because you come in here and say black while everyone else is saying white. I may not agree with a lot of what is said here politically but im definatly not going to get on here and start threads or respond to others just to start an argument. I'ts your right as an American to have your opinion and be able to voice that freely and i think a few members here may have forgotten that. However, it is their right to respond with their opinions and beliefs when you go trolling in the political section.

Sorry if i offended anyone here but that's just my 2 cents on the subject.

Agreed to all that was said above. Strel, your English isn't terrible, that being said, no one's is perfect. English is the hardest language on Earth to learn, think of "wind" (the wind) and "wind" (the road winds down the hill) and the two, too, and to things. English is terrible, that being said, Spanish was my minor in college, and it at least has some patterns. At least your trying and kudos for that, Strel. Many people cross the pond (or the rio grande) and just say "my eeengwish no good" or "no speakay". So, Kudos for trying

I think he must be concerned about people illegally crossing the border between Brazil and the US.

Strel, alot of times I disagree with your views on the issues being discussed here, but I for one can usually understand what you mean with what you type even though I'm about as southern as a man can get. Simple fact is like others have said, it's the internet. No matter where you're from someone is always going to criticize what is typed if it's not perfect, especially those that are trying to come up with reasons to argue with you.

That part isn't hard.

I`ve been here for over 13 years and I don`t remember ever having any big issues with anyone about my English...most people when they say "speak English" what they saying is, speak so everyone can understand you, they are not saying you have to speak perfect English. USA is a great place just because of all those different people who live here, and natural born Americans are ,in majority, very welcoming and have their hands open to everyone, in the other hand, people who come here shoud not try to change or push some of other issues. Anyone who comes to America should already speak English, or if nothing else, do everything they can to learn, not only the English language, but as much as they can about American people, culture, history , way of life, etc... if person comes to America and stay here, they should consider it their country and accept it 100%...in the other hand, if someone is not happy with it, there is always possibility to go back where he/she, came from... I`m from Croatia and after 13 years I consider USA my home and my country, as much as Croatia, if not even more... my child is American, my friends are American`s, I live here, work and pay taxes here, cry and laugh here and if I have to, I will put the uniform on and fight for it too...I think, for all the people who came here in the search for a beter life, the very least they can do, is to learn how to speak English...IMHO

wow!! I never knew you were from Croatia!

pretty awesome.

Strel, this is a guy that "gets it". He's an American with NO chains.

What I'm trying to tell you is that the things that work in Europe don't work here.

From what I've seen, they don't work so well in Europe either...

I've always wondered why, if a place was so great, and the person so intent on making their new home just like it, they ever left where they came from to begin with.

I've always been the sort that if I left somewhere because I didn't like something about it, I'd never in a million years try to re-create it somewhere else. And it seems to me that's exactly what far too many immigrants try to do; re-make where they are now into what they just left. It's just crazy.

Well, regardless of spelling, grammar, and diction, I just don't like you. Nothing personal, it's an attitude I hold for all socialists. I'm pretty sure that I still have that right, whether it be offensive or not. Show me someone who believes in freedom, and I don't care if he's borderline illiterate - he's on my side in a fight that has been going on a long time. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold, but a war between freedom and slavery to the state.

Call it paradise and stick a pansy... in your ear, but it still stinks of chains to me.

Strel, take note of what 44M just said in his post. He has figured out what it really means to come to America and assimilate into the American way of life...and IMO, he is a better freedom loving man than you'll ever be. FWIW.

Sadly enough, some Americans need to take note of that as well.

44M gets it. And it's not just immigrants, ...... Half-Backs !!!! If I hear just one more time... well in NJ, or in NY, or in OH, or IN FL. !!! I'm going to BLOW !!! The other day, for the thousandth time this guy started, "In NY", I said, " Look around, this ain't NY, ..We ain't gonna let you turn it into NY, and if it is so great, why don't you go back to that cess-pool, we'll All chip in and buy you a bus ticket !!!" He shut-up!!! Hey, I welcome anyone, BUT, if you try to make our home into the same " crap-hole" that you came from, well we're going to have trouble !! And while I'm on this soap-box... I'd like to see the state constitution changed so only NATIVE Tennesseans can be elected gov. , we've had 2 " carpet-baggers " in a row, and look how that's turned out!!!
