Hey, I'm Josh. I'm from Oak Ridge, TN. 19 and considering purchasing my first firearm in the next few weeks or so. The Glock 19 currently has my eye, but that might change after I read some reviews on here. Clearly, it would be for at home self-defense as I'm not old enough to have a HCP. I'm an avid hiker, outdoorsman, and airsoft player(not sure what kind of rep they get around here, but I play for sport and have always put safety first).

If you're new to pistols I do NOT suggest a Glock. These pistols are not for folks new to firearms.

They're also not for folks who don't practice alot I would suggest that you go with something with more than ONE safety.

I, myself, like Glocks and think the G19 is a fine handgun but like any handgun you need to know how to operate and be safe with it.

Welcome to TGO. We have local shoots for the East TN contingent all of the time. I have a G19 that you are welcome to shoot. If you follow your four rules of gun safety you'll be fine with a Glock. If you don't follow the four rules you should maybe write poetry instead. See you around the forums and hopefully at one of the shoots. We also make trips to the gunshows.
