ah yes......but I have no idea.:rofl:....To me, it's kinda like the price of gas. They know you have to have it.

I heard that, don't know why I'm complaining, you ought to see the prices on Harley Davidson accessories. OUCH!!!

Because they are made on multi-slide presses and there is a lot of tooling involved.

Cost of tooling and quality control. If the quality of the tooling is high and there is good quality control; you get a magazine that works. If the quality is crap and there is no quality control; you get magazines that are crap.

Another factor is quantity. If they are making 10,000 mags for a model specific firearm they will cost more than making a run of a million mags for a 1911, AR or AK.

Yeah if you stray far from the 1911, AR, or AK platforms, magazine prices are going to go up. Since almost any magazine made for the 1911, AR, or AK will fit almost any 1911, AR, or AK, prices are going to be low. But for magazines made for specific guns, they'll cost more since they aren't mass produced.
