Lube Question

I was at the NHRA Drags at Bristol yesterday and went by the Lucas Oil booth, they had gun oil there, I had know idea they made it. Well anyway she gave me a little bottle of it and said it is great stuff and real good on metal to metal slides. Anyone ever use it or have any ideas?

As a racer and engine builder I can tell you most of the oils and lubes 4 guns are

the same as used on various auto applications.......Lucas is top of the line

Lucas products are "top of the line" just like Sonny said...use 'em in my Dodge Cummings 5.9 diesel engine's...had no idea they made a gun oil.

Is it something new Lucas oil has came out with recently?

I have used Lucas gun oil for about 5 years. Great stuff. My favorite part is that it doesn't have an odor to it. The down side is it is hard to find in the tricities.

It's probably fine. I know a few guys that use Mobil 1 Synthetic on their 1911's.

If it's good enough for an engine operating at 7,000 RPM's, I see no reason why it wouldn't be awesome for a gun running at a few less.

Not sure of the viscosity - its pretty thin. Looks a lot like auto transmission fluid.

I use ARP moly assembly lube on the slide of my semi-auto's.

If your 1911 is running a few less then you might ought to get it checked out.

Seriously a lot of people are running Mobile 1 on ARs as well. Any quality synthetic oil will work just like any lube is better than no lube.
