Info on school in Williamson County...take 2

Recommended Posts

I posted this under the training thread but then I noticed that thread says it was for training beyond the CCW class....so you'd think I'd learn to read.

Has anyone had any experience with S.A.T.S. "Small Arms Training School?"

I am registered to attend their CCW class on 1/26. It was a Christmas gift so I have not personally spoke w/ any of the instructors yet. My wife spoke to one of them and she intially got their information from a few sales folks from Academy sports in Cool Springs.

Just doing some homework before I speak with them thisw week.

I've met one of the instructors, he seemed to be highly knowledgeable and competent. The gunsmith from whom I rent space has recommended their class to plenty of people. Everyone that I've talked to who has taken the class has had nothing but good things to say about it.

They also offer a free firearms safety class to Williamson County residents. It doesn't meet the requirements for a Carry Permit, but it gives people a basic knowledge of handguns and how to operate them safely. It also allows the graduates to use the Sheriff's department range during their scheduled open-range days.
