Anyways, before I left Bruce offered to sell me a Remington UMC 9mm 250 pack for $25. I was shocked and I have never felt more guilty.

Why don't you offer to head out to the range with him and shoot up that 250 pack? If he went with you, I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't feel so guilty and you may even help him restore some of his faith in his firearms. And if he refused, it'd still help with that pesky guilt factor. Just a thought...

That's actually a great idea. I'm going to swing by that Wal-Mart soon and see if he wants to go with me. Thanks bro!

Thats unfortunate, I've never had an ad myself (knock on wood) but have no doubts it can happen to anybody. I happen to know one guy that unholstered his gun to get into his car (he said he couldn't drive comfortably or get in and out comfortably with it in the holser) in the garage and let a round off through the windsheild and into the ceiling.

Always unfortunate that accidents can happen to affect judgments....

Hopefully the time spent at the range will help restore his judgement and he has 6 months to renew since his expired....tell him to hurry!

I had a negligent discharge once. I say negligent, because it wasn't accidental. I had a lapse of judgment, caught myself not paying attention, and 'off' it went. Fortunately, I was alone, had it pointed in a safe direction, and had only cosmetic damage to a chair armrest and a couch cushion.

Regardless, it was one of the most humbling experiences that has ever occurred to me. I was physically and mentally shaken for many hours, and it taught me some valuable lessons.

I didn't give up firearms obviously, but I was shaken up enough that I could understand how Bruce arrived at this decision.

Be careful, guys.
