I'm new, but not as new as I was about a month ago. My wife and I are just starting to learn about self-defense and the role that a good handgun would play to accomplish that.

My first name is Mike. My wife is originally from Hickman County. We retired here about 13 years ago. (Why retire to Dickson? Because wifey has family ties here.)

This is a good place to thank all the members of this board who helped me. I/we now own two Glocks, 27 and 23. We have a lot to learn, but we're getting there.

During our stay here, I was an Associate Member of the Dickson FOP. The friends that I made in FOP have stepped forward to help me/us on a hands-on level. I take a look at our Glocks and see a lot of good design and engineering. My son is a police officer in NYCity, and now I can understand why he likes his service pistol, a Glock 9mm.
