Changes in OP. Also from School Me On Lower Parts Kits Thread:

After much thought, I'm gonna stick with my original plan and pick up a Daniel Defense Part Lower Receiver Parts Kit: Daniel Defense Part Lower Receiver Parts Kit Black AR-15 DD-21007 - ManVenture Outpost, LLC - $74.05

I'm also gonna pick up a Magpul Industries Moe Grip Grip Black as an upgrade from the standard grip: Magpul Industries Moe Grip Grip Black AR Rifles MAG415-BLK - ManVenture Outpost, LLC - $14.19

So a grand total including shipping would be $101.15. I honestly don't think it's worth the money to pick up a 2 stage trigger. I've put plenty of lead down range with an M16/M4 when I was in the army to know how the basic trigger pull feels. My main concern is that every time I pull the trigger, the rifle go's BANG! Thanks for your input guys, I just feel that my money will be better spent on other vital parts of this build.

I've made some more changes to OP. I've decided to go with an 18" DPMS Mark 12 Heavy Barrel. Reasons for me changing to an 18" barrel instead of a 20", is because I've been having a hard time finding a 20" barrel in 1/8 twist at a reasonable price. The way I see it, 1/8 twist is gonna probably be the best all around bet for what I'm wanting this rifle to do. From my research, 1/8 twist shoots the middle weight rounds better, but could shoot the others in a SHTF situation (all be it not very well).

Also before anyone chimes in that the list is missing parts, I know and I'm still looking at all my options. So far, I believe I'm putting together a good list of parts for this build. Any more suggestions?

If you plan on building the upper make sure you molleb the barrel before cranking and tighten loosen at least twice just saying as I build them daily or almost. If you want accuracy trigger is a must timney are great but if you get arkansas hard stone and make sure you dont change angles you can seriously eliminate all creep and lighten the trigger pull signifigantly with slightly other mods. This will save the money and suggest at least trying it before dropping almost 300 bucks that can be spent on troy buis

Stoning the trigger in the way you mention does not remove creep. It may make it less noticeable but does not remove any creep. Also, changing angles is not an issue as long as the person knows what they are doing. Definitely not for the novice as it can cause problems. Even if too much is taken off there is a fix.

If you plan on building the upper make sure you molleb the barrel before cranking and tighten loosen at least twice

And explain this. If you are saying what I think you are saying what is the reasoning behind loosening and tighting the barrel nut twice? And what is molleb?

Just trying to learn something new.

I finally made my decision on which barrel I wanted to buy and made my purchase from MidwayUSA. http://www.midwayusa...-teflon-pre-ban

Also, I acquired the Yankee Hill Machine Phantom 5.56mm 5C2 Comp/Flash Suppressor (YHM-28-5C2) from a fellow TGO member (kb4ns), back in March!

Total spent so far is $389.45.

So with that said, some progress is being made. All be it, a little at a time. More changes to come and hopefully the funds will become available a little more often in the future! I would like to have this rifle together by my birthday in November.

Molleb? What the heck is that? You mean grease the threads with an anti-seize? If so, that's very good advice. Why on earth would you torque, loosen and torque again though? You might check torque after you shoot it a bit, but why loosen it? Liken that to head gasket. Torque and run, then re-torque.....MAYBE, but even still, if you did it right in the first place, it's NOT necessary.

I was looking at upper receivers now that I have a barrel on order. I searched "ar15 upper receivers" in google and found this: http://www.brownells...0000814_d_11224 ("We The People"/"Join Or Die" Upper Receiver Kit, 080-000-867WB). It fits with the theme of the "Don't Tread on Me" that is on my lower receiver. Price is kinda high, but adds that 2nd kind of cool to the build.

Yay for Spike's, that's who I used for my build. Good stuff at a good price.

Looks like spikes doesn't have the upper receiver I wanted anymore so, I'm gonna continue to look around. I'm still digging that upper from Brownells though!

Which upper were you looking for?

Well the upper I have linked in my OP, is no longer there. When you click the link it takes you to an empty items page more/less.

Since he's not saying it, I will. You should consider the AR "trigger improvement kit" that Dolomite sells. It's cheap, makes the trigger feel nice, and as far as I can tell it doesn't affect reliability in any way.

You just can't go wrong with most Magpul stuff. I've never been unhappy with anything I bought, and I own a bunch of it. FWIW, I like the plastic trigger guard much better than their metal one.

Fresh batch of parts from recent order have arrived. Hopefully not much longer and this beast will be operational. I'll have to edit my OP to include this order and make some more changes to the list.
