I'm talking ideology, not lifestyle. The ideology is the socialist, Utopian, communist mixture that is still very much alive in people like Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Barney Frank, ect. The ones who came out of it in the 80's are not the problem. It is the ones who changed their lifestyles but retained their values that need to go away. It was a miserable failure then ( reason a lot of them changed :D) and it is a miserable failure now.

No offense meant to former naive hippies who have seen the light.:D

So, you think Obama wants to commune with you? Cultivating groats, and smoking weed? :D Aren't we taking this crap a little far? They're just liberals.

I don't think I'd press charges if I were these guys. Too much hassle and nothing would come from it.

I'm fairly certain that if he were a Republican and had done the same, the Democrats would be pushing the GOP to ask him to resign. We've seen them do so for far less. They've wanted peoples' heads on the chopping block for words...this is assault and battery.

As far as Obama wanting to commune...I don't think his ilk will be happy until he's installed Animal Farm 2.0.

Not that it matters much, but back in the 1960's there were the various species of hippies.

Rock musicians back then were not typically hippies-- Usually just long-haired capitalists. Maybe they lean democrat, republican or libertarian nowadays, but they typically were not super-interested in politics in their youth.

There were "Whole Earth Catalog" hippies-- Engineering and science students, interested in solar power and geodesic domes and living off the land. Some went on to develop desktop puters and the internet, and a lot of the aged ones turned libertarian, and were basically libertarian early on too.

Frat boy and sorority hippies where it was only a fashion statement. I bet they mostly grew up republican, and were mostly republican back then.

The good old boy "Free Bird Hippies" with their jacked-up GTO's. Decent odds that those guys are republicans or libertarians now, and were republicans or libertarians back then too.

Then the ordinary peace-and-love hippies, with a spectrum from college profs down to the lower echelons of down-and-out young street drug addicts. Am guessing the peace-and-love hippies probably grew up about equally distributed liberal, conservative, libertarian.

The dangerous breed were SDS type hippies. Other than the "Free Bird Hippies" (hunter country boys), and heavy-weight drug dealer types, the SDS hippies were the only species likely to be totin guns. SDS hippies scared me and I steered clear of em. Spoiled trust-fund brats majoring in Ancient French Poetry who thought they knew the answer to all the worlds problems. Huffing weed, talking revolution, and fondling shotguns. Bad scene, man! Now they are officials in the Obama Admin.

That's the way I remember it

I remember going to the polls years ago and there would be people representing the Communist Party on the ballat. Around here it was seen mostly during the presidential race. When communism collapsed in '89, they did NOT just die-off but were assimilated into the Democrat Party. Karl Marx' book "The Communist Manifesto" is now the Democrat play book. First comes socialism then comes communism. It is a very slow progression or by force.

I'm guessing the same thing would have happened. When are we going to get past this mentality the America is at war with itself?

We'll get past that mentality when political correctness dies.

It won't die. It will have to be killed, just like the illegals. Kids are being taught PC in the classroom. In every classroom. You have to be careful what you say in front of

everyone. It could be considered sexual harassment (pronounce it right, that one really gets me mad) if you look at someone the wrong way. You have to be careful about which joke you say in front of which person. Talking and buying green is PC.

Ridiculous

The far left democrats are communists, progressives, socialists. They all mean the

same thing. Don't try to define them differently. A large chunk of democrats call

themselves "progressives". They have their own caucus, just like other congressional

caucuses.

That Ethridge guy might as well resign. His apology was meaningless. More political

vomit to save his hide. That video will remain against him until he loses. His rival

should be playing that until Ethridge gives up.

The congressman kept saying he had a "Right" to know who the students were. Not sure where that particular right comes from, but I'm not aware of it.

However, who these two young men obviously were, was American citizens, for who this congressman swore to represent, and defend the Constitution for. In my mind he broke that oath and should step down.

Spin Chris Matthews, spin! Let it tingle down down your leg.

The congressman acted stupidly. He should have just kept on walking if he didn't want to answer their questions.

exactly! Walk away, why have a confrontation?

The congressman deserves whatever comes of this.
