Dems are getting a little touchy now. I doubt there will be any criminal charges. An elite superior assualting a common peasant?

The student should have punched the arrogant POS out.

He could've easily walked after the charge, too.

Had the representative put his hands on a trained martial artist he would very likely have been looking up at the sky and in a wrist lock with a shoe on his throat.

Sounded to me like he was demanding the guy show him his papers. I call profiling!

and possibly ruined that great tape. Got him, as good as somebody can be got.

It would make a great campaign commercial for his opponent in the election. Just repeat the assualt about 4 times and at the end his opponent comes on and says, Hi, I'm Joe Shmo, I'm running for Congress and I'm not a criminal thug.

True, but it would be a good video if that student had gone all Buzz Aldrin on him, too...

(CNN) – Rep. Bob Etheridge apologized Monday for his physical confrontation with two young men who identified themselves as students and asked if the North Carolina Democrat "fully supports the Obama agenda."

"I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina , I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse."

How come I doubt this guy's sincerity?

He can apologize for it, but he can't take it back. No do overs Mr Congressman! I hope they play that until he quits.

The congressman would have sustained a broken wrist at least had he done that to me. Imagine trying to defend an a$$-whoop'n accompanied by video to your constituents!

Doesn't count unless he apologized to the students personally. And then he should have to wash their cars for a month. :2cents:

What would have happened if it was a conservative Republican who did this to a couple of liberal students? The liberal media would not have forgiven him, apology or not, and he would have been run out of office.

I saw his press conference on tv and I doubt his sincerity. Looked to me like he was trying to save his job and hated having to do it.

I hope he gets what he deserves in the future....

The congressman acted stupidly. He should have just kept on walking if he didn't want to answer their questions.

I'm guessing the same thing would have happened. When are we going to get past this mentality the America is at war with itself?

When all the old hippies finally die off and take their ignorant Utopian ideas with them. :D

I'm talking ideology, not lifestyle. The ideology is the socialist, Utopian, communist mixture that is still very much alive in people like Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Barney Frank, ect. The ones who came out of it in the 80's are not the problem. It is the ones who changed their lifestyles but retained their values that need to go away. It was a miserable failure then ( reason a lot of them changed :D) and it is a miserable failure now.

No offense meant to former naive hippies who have seen the light.:D
