Decided to not just be a lurker here. I've already read some very good information and opinions here and found some very good links also. I live in Spring Hill, between Franklin and Columbia. I've wanted to get my carry permit for quite some time now and I finally got signed up for a class. With working full time, 4 kids (three in elementry school and a toddler), and my wife attending nursing school fulltime we never seemed to have the time/money to get it done. My wonderful wife and mother decided to send me to a class for my Christmas present and my anniversary (Feb) present it the licesning fee. So I've had a great Christmas and I'm looking forward to 2008.

Has anyone had any experience with S.A.T.S. "Small Arms Training School?" I'm supposed to be scheduled to attend my class with them on Jan 26th at the Williamson County Jail. My wife spoke w/ Jim Mauth and she seemed impressed by him and I plan on speaking w/ him this week to confirm everything and get a feel for the school. They were recommended to my wife from some of the sales folks at Academy Sports in Cool Springs. Just curious....

Hello, from a fellow newbie!! I just visited Spring Hill last month, very beautiful area, but looks like it is experiencing a huge growth boom. My uncle just moved there from NO after Katrina. He is a Tennessean at heart, and the hurricane finally gave him an excuse to get back home to his home state.
