They had a deal on the other night called "the real war of Charlie Wilson" or something like that. At one point they are interviewing Wilson and he's talking about getting weapons for the Afghans. He mentions an episode where some one pulls up in a pickup truck in front of a govt building in DC and shows Wilson his new invention, a .50Cal rifle. During the course of demonstrating it, it goes off and sets the gas station across the street on fire... The fellow in the pickup truck makes tracks and the govt. clears up the incident with the station's owners.

The way the story was told by Wilson, it was a pretty funny incident. I can only think of 2 people during this time period that were trying to market a .50 calibre rifle... A fellow in Utah and another closer to home...

Don't know if the .50 cal guy was our local boy or the other, but I did see the movie. Worth a look, some great acting, excellent writing and nice cinematography. The story was greatly simplified from the truth, although it hits the mark overall.

PS. Julia Roberts is looking fine. How old is she now?
