Personally, I wouldn't have anything to do with a non-matching no-bayonet M44. At that price it should be complete and matching.

Pass and wait. Go to gunshows, there is always somebody walking around with one (usually) or just get a 91/30, they are much more accurate and pleasant to shoot.

Already have 4 91/30's. Just curious what the 44's were selling for now.

apparently 179 dollars, providing they are mix masters and have no bayonet. :D

What I'm seeing at gunshows, they are running around $150 or so, matching, with bayonet. May be a touch higher, but they can be had around that. $179 is high for a non-matching gun with no bayonet. They are becoming a bit more scarce though, I'm mostly seeing 91/30's lately. By the way, I also haven't tried to talk any of them down, that's just whats been on the tag.

Try looking on auction sites too. I have noticed since there arent a lot around here that I have seen, they bring a premium. Might get a better deal there!

Yep. I got one back when you could pick 'em up for $69 and kick myself daily for selling it! :-\

A little steep ain't it. I saw one at a gunshow a while back and now I guess the price was normal. I thought it was way high.

I don't recall classic arms having any m44s at the moment, but that is a great site to watch out for... get a C&R License and keep up with some of the following companies...

classic arms: Classic Arms Inc.

southern ohio gun: Southern Ohio Gun Distributors, Inc., Your Global Connection for Firearms, Accessories and Ammunition!

J&G Sales: J&G Sales

Allan's Armory: http://allans-armory.com

centerfire systems: Centerfire Systems, Inc. - Your Home For Ammo, Firearms, Magazines, and Gun Accessories

Samco Global Arms: https://www.samcoglobal.com

Century Arms: Home Page

I just picked up a matching 91/59 carbine length from Allan's Armory for $135... it was their lowest grade and is one of the nicest Mosin's I've seen at any dealer or gunshow... no pics as of yet. I'm not sure of the exact difference, but those should be in the same ballpark as the M44s. $150 and up should be EXTREMELY nice or rare.
