Isn't she that skank from "Live Free or Die Harder?"

Well, she's certainly no Peta Wilson...

So what's up with all these re-makes anyway? Hollyweird suddenly become completely unable to come up with any new ideas?

I guess they'll be remaking Leave it to Beaver and The Lone Ranger next... :P

If you thought "Melrose Place" was the last reboot the CW had in mind, think again. The CW has picked up a pilot that could bring a popular spy series from the 90's back to the airwaves this fall. "Nikita" is an updated version of the USA Network hit "La Femme Nikita." The original series, launched in 1997 came from Luc Besson's 1990 film "Nikita" and its 1993 American remake "Point of No Return." "Point of No Return" starred Bridget Fonda as Maggie, a former drug addict sentenced to death whose life is spared in exchange for becoming an assassin for the government.

"La Femme Nikita" starred Petra Wilson as Nikita, a young homeless woman who, thanks to a case of mistaken identity, is forced to become an operative for a secret government organization. Roy Dupuis, Eugene Robert Glazer and Alberta Watson also starred. The show proved to be a ratings hit for USA. It was especially great for advertisers looking for the coveted 18-49 demographic. Though ratings were high in the later seasons, the series was canceled in 2000. Massive fan outrage prompted USA to order eight additional episodes in order to finish the series.

The premise of the new series revolves around a new assassin brought in to replace a rogue Nikita. McG, known for the action blockbuster "Terminator Salvation" and the new FOX series "Human Target" starring Mark Valley, will serve as executive producer. Peter Johnson and Craig Silverstein ("Bones" and "K-Ville") will write and also produce the series. Danny Cannon of "CSI" will direct the pilot. If picked up for the fall season, "Nikita" would be the third spin-off the network has sent to air. In 2008 the CW launched "90210," a spinoff of the 90's Aaron Spelling series "Beverly Hills 90210." The following year, "Melrose Place" was as well.

Well, they did try to "re-imagine" the Lone Ranger, back in the '80s...

To say it sucked is to be way too kind. :P

If you look at the clip posted I think you'll see that you're in for a disappointment....

They aren't being very creative, nowadays. That stuff usually has a short shelf life,

I'm glad to say. Eye candy is okay, but it still needs something more.

I wonder who would play the Beaver in a remake? :P

It's the CW, which doesn't inspire confidence, but I'll give it a try.

Same here. I really liked La Femme Nikita so I am hoping it will not be to bad.

I started to say "Rosie O'Donnell", but that has connotations that I don't even wanna consider... :P

( Try not to ponder on that one for too long. ;) )

So what's up with all these re-makes anyway?...

La Femme Nikita was already remade once in 1993 as Point of No Return (USA title).

Bridget Fonda, Gabriel Byrne, Anne Bancroft.

Quite good.
