smith wesson 642

How many of you would put the larger three finger grips on their 642? Doe s this hurt the conceal-ability of the gun very much? I pull to the right ( a little) when I shoot with the regular grips. I was wondering if the full grip would make any difference in this.

I have a 642 with the full grip and a 442 with the short grip. I like shooting the 642 way better and it still conceals well in my pocket.

I have a 442, same gun, with a set of Hogues. I took the Hogues back off and am using the stock grips. The Hogues do reduce recoil a little bit but do make it a little harder to conceal. Depending were in E. TN you are, I might let you try the Hogues. In fact, I would even consider selling the Hogues. PM if interested.

For me it hurts the concealment too much. Also, my wife had the Pachmayr Compac grips for a while and went back to the factory grips for the same reason.

As we all know snub are not range guns so I ditch the idea of shooting comfort in favor of the best concealment and the speed of draw. If the current grips are not allowing you to shoot the gun effectively, go with something else. Just watch the size.

For me I went with the S&W wood grips. It fits my hand well and doesn't snag on any clothing during a draw. Shooting is not at all uncomfortable for me. As a bonus I think they look great. I have no desire to try any different grips.
