New TV Show

You might want to lock your piece away before watching, unless you wanna go all Elvis on your TV.

The wards reference threw me too. I think they wrote the show about NO and only threw in Memphis to rip-off Elvis & the blues. How many old creole Haitians are in Memphis anyway?

I was wondering the same thing.....THAT SHOW SUCKED BIG TIME!

The shrimp po boy, the Haitians, the LA accents threw me off and the acting was really bad. That show had no Memphis flavor. We eat BBQ in Memphis and lots of it.

I didn't even bother trying. Once I found out they filmed in NO, saw "Memphis County" on the badges in the promos, and heard they were stealing location shots during Memphis in May I wrote Drake and Zeke an email, that they read on air, completely lambasting the show. Little factoid for you guys about ole' Punisher84 here I was heavily into the local theater and movie/tv acting stuff a few years ago. Worked as an extra on Walk the Line, did some bit stuff in local theater, etc. Nothing big, but the main reason is because nothing ever comes here to be shot! This screwed hundreds of local talent out of a shot at being on a show. I hope it tanks mid run.

They don't even have a clue how far off they are! Memphis ain't even close to LA!

So I gave it another shot. I'm pretty much completely out now. The police cars dont even have the right graphics. The geography mentioned in the show is way off. I just can't take it anymore. Big let down.

My wife and I stopped the DVR 20minutes in and just shook our heads. Terrible acting.

The reason that it can't be filmed in Memphis is money. The state for the most part, and I guess the city as well (not 100% sure on that), won't offer the appropriate tax incentives for movie makers and tv show makers to film in Memphis, or anywhere in TN. They can save, sometimes, several million dollars to film in other places. A local producer, Craig Brewer, who wanted to film is latest movie in Memphis, went to Atlanta, I think, to film. He wanted to film here, but 2 million dollars on a lower budget movie, sealed the deal for Atlanta.

I haven't seen it, I like Earl.

You are not missing anything. Craig Brewer is remaking Footloose in Atlanta. I give him credit. He fought hard to make that movie in Memphis.

I finally watched this show for the first time last night. Won't waste my time again. That was horrible! Yet another show makes Southerners out to be backwards morons with hokey accents. Could they exaggerate that drawl any more?! Sheesh!

Remaking Footloose, like it didn't suck enough the first time! :D

Yea I couldn't remember which movie it was! He did want to film it here, but 2 mill is real money!
