Can anyone beat Jim Cooper? I hope so!

Here are all of the candidates that are running for Cooper's seat in Tennessee's 5th District of the US House of Representatives. I have met Jeff Hartline and Tracy Tarum at TFA meetings. It's going to take a lot of money to take Cooper down.

Do any of you know anything about any of these guys? Who do you think has the best chance of winning in Nov.?

Seeing Eric Pearson (D) listed as a Tea Party Activist intrigues me so I did a Google search and found this site. Democratic Party - The Democratic Party

I would love to see him win in the primary and Cooper never even get to the General election. The problem is that it is already June and I haven't seen anything about Pearson or any of the others in the news at all.

I hope that someone steps up soon.

2 Democrats

13 Republicans

1 Green

1 Libertarian

7 Independents

Now that's a list! The Republicans are way too many to focus on in a primary. Curious

how that will turn out. I would like to see a chain being broken in the Democratic party if Pearson is being honest, on his website. He does mention progressives, which some still don't know exist. Anyway, that is a two man race, and if he is sincere and

the Tea Party backs him, that would be great. It would give people like George Soros

something to think about.

Why don't we get enough Republicans to swap over and vote in the Democratic primary just so we can vote against Cooper and get him out in the first round? That may be the best way to get him gone. Then we can determine who's the best person for the job after that.

Republicans do that, routinely, and so do Democrats. It sounds good, but I wonder if it is just trading licks and accomplishing nothing. My dad did that in every primary he voted. I do it sometimes and sometimes for different reasons.

The local Republican party should have thinned the crowd in that district. The local Democrats have a better grip on that district's outcome.

Right now none of the candidates are getting if front of the cameras. I was totally surprised to hear that there were that many people running for this seat. I don't know if they don't have the money for commercials but unless someone can get some media attention they will not stand a chance.

Mr Hartline impressed me but I haven't seen anything else from him since the TFA meeting. We may not hear much from any of them until we see who wins the primary.

I won't vote in the democratic primary because there are Republicans that I want to vote for but I will be pulling for Mr Pearson.

If you could get a large block of Republicans voting in that race for Pearson and get

him nominated it might not be a bad thing either way. It would teach the Republicans to be more organized with their own party apparatus and keep the focus on a good

candidate. It would also keep a bad progressive from power. Either way is better than

letting Cooper remain, which is what I am afraid will happen.

I know of Vijay Kumar... he's running on a platform of stopping universal jihad. Very good guy with a detailed knowledge of the problems that have historically accompanied political Islam. Very pro 2nd amendment as well.

What is Cooper's voting record on "gun issues" since he has been in office?

Please just the facts. I can listen to Rush for the garbage.

I know Robert Schwartz and talked to him this morning about his stance on 2A issues. Bob is very conservative and has a strong business background. He wants term limits for congress, repeal of Obamacare, fixing illegal immigration, etc. As you might imagine, he is a supporter of 2A rights - he supports all of the BOR. Bob won't pick-and-choose which parts of the constitution to follow.

I feel quite certain Bob won't sell us out if he gets to congress.

If nothing else, he's got a cool web domain registered: www.beatcooper.com!
