I have been thinking about buying a rifle chambered in 17HM2. Does

anyone own one on here and can tell me their thoughts. I own .22, 22WMR

and 17HMR. From what I have read it seems to be a good platform. It has

a small but strong following in the rim fire circle.

As for me, after owning a 17HMR now for several years, the Mach II just seems like a has been. But it sounds like you are a bit of a collector within the rim fire school of higher learning, sooooooooo, go for it. Sorry, that really doesn't help answer you question.

Just read an interesting article on the 17HMR and the 17HMII on Gunsamerica online magazine.Author pointed out some good things and some bad things about both. Very informative article.

It's pretty cute, but I personally wouldn't have much use for it. I'm a fan of the .17HMR. A slower version doesn't compute for me.

It would still make a helluva rat gun. Looks like a bunch of rifle manufacturers support it.
