What does most of their diet consist of? Seeing as how they're wild, I would think they get a variety, and if so, I'd love to become that sort of hunter. Not much luck on my FIL's land for deer or turkey.

I think they'll eat most anything, but usually root in the dirt for bugs, worms and grasses.

Every time that I have seen them in the wild, they were near a water source.

I am not a hunter and have not hunted for sport since 2001. With that being said I would not mind hunting hogs. Mostly because of how destructive they have become to crops. They are so widespread now that they probably do affect the prices we pay.

They seem to be spreading from East Tn towards Nashville. My guess is that they will be a real problem here soon. I wish we could hunt them with Night Vision stuff. That seems to be the best way to control them.

I have buddies in Mississippi that hunt them with pistols. It is a hoot but you have to be a good shot and quick...
