Watched it for about 5 minutes and had to turn it on something else. I absolutely hate reality shows and the formula they use - it's so canned.

Kano could outshoot all of them. :dropjaw:

+1 on Kano. Would be nice to have one of our own to root for.

Show was OK but WAY to many Survivor ties and to much drama. Has Colby Donaldson ever fired a gun ??

Disclaimer: I've never shot a Springfield

It appears the contestants may not have either. At least the one that couldn't hit the 100 yard target. Did any one notice that the rear sight was folded down? I looked it up and the Springfield was sighted at over 500 yards with the sight down. Could that be why he couldn't get on the target?

I think the show will be too much about playing the game and not enough about the shooting. The super slow motion video was cool though.

Can't wait for the pistol episodes, JJ and Blake are BA uspsa shooters and JJ Racazza owns the steel challenge world record. The blue team seems better stacked to me.

After watching the first episode I'm not as upset that I didn't get selected. Mike that got eliminated used to be a Knoxville cop and shot USPSA at ORSA and Guncraft so I guess the TN connection didn't last long.

really like the shooting parts, really hate the survivor parts. I want to see people shoot, not see people talk. Hell, if I want to watch someone talk (without any interaction from me) I'll just mention a hot button topic to the wife. Something like: Honey, can you run through a quick list of my faults again?

That usually goes on for a few hours.

I'll have to try that, sometime. My wife would probably oblige, also:D

I kind of like the show, but I was pretty annoyed that they showed next week's preview (including video of the person not eliminated) before the elimination challenge...

Not quite sure I get this show. Why is it on History channel again? Why do they have professional shooters shooting side by side with amateur hour rookies? Are they supposed to make up the points when they're trying to throw axes or crap like that? I'm sorry, HISTORICAL axes.

Way too much slow mo. I get it, you have high speed cameras, and they used to be expensive as balls. Now you have it on every show. I don't need to see a target being hit by a bullet in slow mo 6 or 7 times in succession. It's the same damn target.

I'm also not a fan of the "history" interspersed throughout the episode. Really? The 1903 was a WWI rifle? And you've got to repeat that 5 or 6 times in 1 episode? What else you gonna tell me, "History" channel, that I can't look up on Wikipedia or even find out from the local gun shop?

And, what kind of moron can't hit a target from 100 yards away with a CENTERFIRE rifle. FROM A REST!!!! He took over 30 shots and this idiot from the red team couldn't hit what looked to be a 10 inch or so target? With a SPRINGFIELD? And he wants to talk about all the trouble he had zeroing it the day before? And what kind of dinky challenge was this anyways? Slog through 10 FEET!! of obstacle course and then shoot 100 yards with a rifle from a rest. With a spotter no less. So tough!

Finally, the process where they vote each other out is painfully boring and stupid. Ooooh, they all take one shot from a Beretta. From 5 yards away. And miss dead center. Good shot, top shot.

Went to shoot some skeet tonight and over heard a couple of guys discussing the show. I had watched it. Mike Seeklander the first to go had some ties here in Knoxville. I found this on his site.

"From 1995-98, I was employed by the Knox County (TN) Sheriff’s Department’s Corrections division and was a member of its highly trained Special Operations Response Team. From 1998-2001, I worked as a police officer for the Knoxville (TN) Police Department where I was assigned as a patrol officer and also as an investigator for the Organized Crime section, investigating narcotics and vice-related crimes at the local, state and federal levels."

Now I wish he would have gone farther. Looking forward to the next show.

Hulu and History Channel show they've only done one to put online. True?

Ok the wife liked it.. Not sure what that says about the show?????

Uh, oh! My wife liked it too. Is that a good omen? I hope so, b/c I kind of like the show. IMHO the good points outweigh the bad (i.e. guns + shoooting + competition - lame format > 0).

Well that is what they needed. I like Impossible shots better. But that is why I liked Biker Build Off and the general public liked Orange County Chopppers. I want to see action or details the general public wants drama!:D

Not sure, but I think they were afraid a good informative show about guns and shooting wouldn't have a broad enough audience. Sad as it is, it's all about the money with TV.

I get a lil dose of guns/shooting. The not so avid folks get some drama and pseudo-Survivor. Hopefully we're both partly satisfied.

Yah, last week's episode was the debut.

Gah! Why can't they get rid of Brad? And for the record, I want to shoot at targets while flying down a sky lift! That looked awesome!

The kid's attempt at a smiley face on the target was hilarious. I thought the bald headed

guy was a drama queen.

The show was OK, don't care for all the "oh i'm gonna vote for so&so because.." "oh wait I changed my mind", etc.

I record the show, and fast forward through the drama sections, to get to the "shooting" portions.

I did like the shooting through the tubes. Shooting on a zip line, yeah, that'd be FUN :P

Next week archery :)

Just caught up on the show, and figured there would be a thread on here about it

It was alright. I agree with the drama statements. I'm sure it will get more dramatic as the season progresses. Let's face it though, even though we all hate the drama aspect, that's mainly what sells a reality show.

We'll see how it shapes up over the next couple of shows.

It's slowly starting to piss me off. I am not a long distance pistol shooter and I am not a sniper, but I'm fairly certain I could have held my own for at least these first episodes against these "experts".

Brad is supposed to be a USPSA shooter right? And the guy is whining about the Beretta?! To me a firearms "expert" should be able to manipulate any firearm handed to them out there with a certain degree of proficiency. I've seen better form and more confident shooters in a permit class!

These "experts" are a bunch of fools.

I'm about to watch the "slide-action" Beretta episode and just can't wait for the drama. :P

I work for the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, and Denny Chapman is one of our members. It's pretty cool to watch.

Same here. Though I have been known to shoot at things with a pistol at distances that have made some folks scratch their heads.

Especially at 25 freakin' FEET! Not yards... FEET!

Sheesh... ;)
