What's the ironclad statute # we show to the interested parties? The one all LEOs will soon have to know.

If you mean the Public Chapter number...it could still be a few days before that shows up the state's website....not sure if it can be given to us by some other means before that or not.

As far as what LEOs will need know...it is that 39-17-1305 has been repealed and is no more. So there is no statute against carry where alcohol is served.

Just looked it up in the TCA, and it was added to 1305. Not sure when it was, but it now says HCP are authorized to carry in restaraunts.

If you mean Michie, that's the first time around, from 2009.

They only update the free version maybe once a year.

http://www.michie.com/tennessee is only updated once a year...I think it took until nearly Sept last year before it showed the change.

This bill repeals 39-17-1305 or in otherwords there is no 39-17-1305 anymore.

Years ago the Supreme Court of the US said that people have a responsibility to follow the rules (laws) but they have the right to know what the rules are. Their position was issued in a student vs. school case but it applies.... One cannot be expected to follow the law if they are not made aware of a law. Sort of like not posting speed limit signs. You know... sort of like Coopertown.

So what is the current law on GUNS IN BARS in TN? Who do we ask?

So I go somewhere that has the posting referencing 39-17-1305, do I continue on or turn around? No gun buster signs or anything else, just the intention to notify of no guns allowed.
