Two .40 cal Glock questions:

1) Glock 22 -- generation 2 and generation 3… how are the ‘generations’ different?

2) Glock 22 compared to Glock 35 – I’ve looked at the specs and I can see that they differ in trigger pull, line of sight, barrel length, weight, etc. But the specs are **just numbers** and the specs don’t tell anything about the **human** factor. Who can give his/her input on the human factor?

Thank you.

Gen 2 Glocks don't have finger ridges on the grip frame or the accessory rail under the barrel.

Gen 3 Glocks have these.

The G22 is a full size pistol. The G35 is the extended barrel model, generally considered a 'Target Model.'

I posted pictures below.

Now, with all that done. The only Glock I own is a 19. I like it. The trigger is an interesting learning experience, but it doesn't detract from the entire package. The gun is simple to maintain, as accurate as required and dead nuts solid.

Hey Mike, mine is in bold bro, PM me w/any questions on Glocks.

The Gen2 grip does not have finger groves & Gen3 does on all models.

The G35 is their ''Long Slide'' competition pistol in 40 S&W

The most signifigant differences that I can figure out are the finger grooves and the light/laser rail on the later models.

Not being a glock expert, I think it is just the finger grooves and the light rail. I traded for my first glock last year--a gen 3 model 22 and like it. my next was 45 model 30. I like it much better than the 40

Glock 40s have had several upgrades/ changes to the gun and magazines. Maybe an armorer can chime in... Having said that, I've never known anyone personally to have a problem with any Glock that wasn't bubba'd.

There are 2 versions of the 3rd generation. The early 3rd generations have one pin above the trigger (as in the pics above) and the later 3rd generations have two pins. Does anyone know why Glock added the 2nd pin?

The .40 always had the second pin. It adds strength. The pin was added to the 9mm later. I would assume it was added to increase strength as well.

You made me laugh. The Glocks are OK as long as they aren't "bubba'd."

I told my wife -- she broke up -- she thought it was doubly funny because she's originally from a bubba family herself.

But seriously... you made a point that I will remember: If I have an opportunity to buy a gun face to face (not from a dealer), I'll make sure that the gun (or the seller) isn't "bubba'd."

Good point -- good point -- good point! Thank you.

Gen2 to Gen3 differences

Finger grooves/lightrail. That's it.

Longer barrel, slide, sight radius in the G35. It's all good.

Get a GEN4 Glock in .40. Dual captive recoil spring. Adjustable backstraps, AND you can shoot it with a light attached without it malfunctioning. Haha.

Regarding your "bubba'd" warning. ........ Have you had good experience ordering from Summit Sales (near Kansas City,MO)?? I wrote to the owner, Mark Kitterman, and he agreed to look out for a Glock 35 for me.

Many thanks. You taught me something. ..... BUBBA'd..... I will remember that.

I thought that they did something to the chamber between 2 and 3 also. But then, I reserve the right to be wrong.
