On one hand, the AK is probably the most reconizable firearm throughout the world. On the other, its mostly reconizable here for being in the hands of our enemy. I think she could have gotten her point across while holding any firearm, so I probably would have gone with an AR as well. It would still show that she supports the 2A and is against any assault weapons ban, but many would reconize it as being at least "standard issue" for US military. I'm sure most would still only see an EBR. Either way though, I think its pretty cool that she made the point.
