Saw this a while back and would be about the right price for a Papa's day gift for ME!

I know people been sayin' GAP is "going the way of the water buffalo" for a long time now, but it's still around. I'm not so much as worried with being able to locate ammo as much as I just don't know Jack bout a Glock.

If you can find .45 GAP for cheap. I would say go for it. Otherwise, .45 ACP is already hard enough to find and mist places online, gouge you for it. Honestly, I'd just get a G21 and be done with it. Glocks are great guns, a 9mm Glock is the benchmark for a combat pistol, all the other calibers, not so much.

Despite the consensus that the GAP going away, it has surprisingly survived and in fact it is starting to be adopted by some LE agencies. Having the Glock marketing behind it is a big plus. I'd say go for it at $379. Tactical-Life.com

Most people will tell you to avoid it due to the cost of ownership. Sure, you're saving 150 bucks (ish) on the purchase price, but the cost and availability of ammo make something along the lines of a G22/21/17 a better deal over the long haul if you're just hankering for a GLOCK.

If this was the compact or sub-compact I'd have purchased one as soon as they went on sale months ago. If you have small hands like I do, and even a G21sf feels a tad too big. Then this would be perfect. However if you just want a Glock at this price. Find a place with a bunch of Police Trade Ins, and very politely ask if they'll let you take thebpick of the litter. They may just have one in the glass case but a stack in the safe. Scouring the internets for a case of ammo may effect your decision. There may be great deals on ammo out there...

stay away, they are going to stop making that round and some already have... then ammo is going to be super hard to ind and very $$$$ expensive.

If you could get one in the $200 range i'd say you might think about it.. but $379 isnt a deal on a dead gun and ammo.

Btw, us dealers were made this same offer.... well we could have bought them for around $329 a year ago and most declined, so then they dumped them off to buds for somewhere around $275.

IMHO, I'd check with Mark with Summit Gunbroker first. He has a lot of Glocks.

Here is a link for him and I've put the link at the full sized G22 gen 3 but he has many more.

When you buy a Glock in .40 S&W you can very easily modify it to run 9mm and .357 Sig. 9mm you change barrel & mags - .357 Sig - change the barrel only.

( So one Glock .40 actually can run (3) calibers )

When the great ammo shortage was going on you could find 357 SIG and 45 GAP

on the shelves. I don't see it going away if that many state agencies are using it.

Georgia Arms was selling it for 17- $18.00/50.

My friend has one and loves it due to small hands. But I personally agree with most on here you can find a good used Glock in a more normal caliber for a bit more money.

Don't see why it is needed - the round speaks for itself. It is going to slowly fade away just like hundreds of odball chamberings over the years.

For some reason there are a lot of apologists for this chambering. Not sure if it is because it simply has the word GLOCK in the name or what? There is nothing spectacular about it at all.

btw... you can get a used refurbed like new Gen 3 with rail Glock 22 or 23 for the same price with three mags and night sights... jsut an fyi
