Mine crapped out last year and I took it to a shop. They said the mother board was fried and it would be $400 to fix it. No way. I can get a new basic one for that so it's just been laying around since about July of last year.

A month ago I decided to see if it would come on so I plugged it in and hit the button and it has been working fine ever since. It needs a battery now but other than that it is working as well as it ever did. I guess it wanted a break. I would hate to spend $100+ for a new battery and it die again though.

Those Intel dual-core HT processors run HOT! My newer (2006) laptop is a lap warmer, and it's had a fix downloaded from Intel to speed up the fans. I don't think I want another one in a laptop.

My current Sony desktop has the same processor and frequently the fans run up until it sounds like an F16.

I think if I ever get another laptop it will have a freon cooling system in it. Do they make them like that?;)

Maybe you should patent that idea before someone else does.

They do make a cooling pad for laptops.

It's probably already in the works:D

I have seen freon and water cpu coolers for desktops. Nuclear powered laptops must

be next. I wonder how they will cool them? :(

I ran my laptop with an ice pack under it a few times. It would thaw the ice pack pretty quickly.

is your fan working or maybe just clogged a bit?

See below post.

I guess it was just overworked.

I'm just glad you found a use for that Miller Lite. Because it's certainly no good as beer. :(

Had to put my beer down to take the pic, duh.
