My wife and I are leaving in the morning to go to Indiana for the day(long story) and I was wandering if I would have any problems in other states carrying our guns. We both have a permit to carry. We will be in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Used to have one of the books that told this info, but of course I can't find it when I need it. Thanks, Jason

Just found the reciprocity website. Kentucky and Ohio are fine, but Indiana is a little different. They do not have a reciprocity agreement with TN, but it says they do "recognize TN permits". What does that mean? Here's the site Handgun Carry Permit Reciprocity Information

Reciprocity applys to the issue of that states permit from another state, as a renewal, instead of a new application. As they reconize a TN permit, you can carry there, although you are responsible to know and obey that states laws. It's a good practice to find and print a copy of the latest rules of other states you may travel in.

A reciprocity agreement just means there is a formal written agreement to honor each state's permits.

Before the law changed in many states this was required before a state would honor another state's permit.

Now several states, like TN, either honor all permits from any state or at least don't require formal written agreements.

Handgunlaw.us is a good place to check on the carry laws of each state.

Also this thread on TGO has some good info http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-law-faq/13408-reference-material-some-basic-questions.html
