Well today my girlfriend and I went to the RK gun show in East Ridge since she had never been to a gun show and it had to have been 13 years since I have been to one and we had some time to waste. We get to looking around at all the goodies and I stopped by Top Guns booth out of Cookeville and picked up a Double Star stripped lower for 118 OTD. I hope I didnt get ripped off or get a bad brand. Anyways, Im gonna update this thread as I go along. Below is the parts left I still need to get. The best part is my gf said she will be buying most the parts. Can I say KEEPER!

Doublestar is just fine, no worries at all.

The only thing I don't like about double star is that if you don't buy DS upper the finish probably won't match. They're usually semiglossy and most other AR finishes are matte.

$118.00 sounds like a pretty fair price, too.

Was the vendor set up with coffins as a display? There was a company at the Murfreesboro show that sold a bunch of AR stuff, and had coffins as their display tables. Might be the same guys.

yeah this one is semigloss now that you mention it. once i get the upper ill see how they match and if its off ill hit it with a matte duracoat

Bcm uppers are glossy

DS uppers are semi-glossy as are Del-Tons (that is the upper receiver part, not the barrel). Those are the only ones I have experience with and both are just fine.

The Del Ton I have is matte as is my buddies, as are all the complete DelTon Rifles I've seen.

You probably dealt with Adam West (we call him Batman) he's a good dude. They're based out of Cookeville

I did read the chart! For most people the stag is fine. All they are going to do is plink with it any way. I see no reason to spend the extra $ for anything else.
