Columbia student indicted in theft of cheesestick at school | tennessean.com | The Tennessean

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — A student accused of stealing a cheesestick from a high school lunch line has been indicted on several charges by the Maury County grand jury.

Eighteen-year-old Cortez Wyanna was indicted on charges of theft under $500, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and assault, all misdemeanors. He had also originally been charged with robbery, a felony.

According to The Daily Herald, authorities say Wyanna left the lunch line at Columbia Central High School, entered a restricted area and took some food. They said he resisted when confronted about the incident.

haha. TGO provides laughs again.

I do not know about now, but when I was in school, lunch was like $1.25 for a full lunch. That would make that cheesestick worth about $0.20. I bet that guy wishes he would have taken something a little more expensive.

As a taxpayer, I would be extremely upset if I lived in this county. Think how much money is going to be spent on this kid for a cheesestick. Honestly, the state and stuff in as much debt as we are, and people are prosecuting for a cheesestick. Ridiculous.

So, to summarize your point, you're saying: 1st -It is improper to blow that much cheese on a cheesed*ck punk who stole some different cheese? 2nd - this impropriety, because of all the cheese wasted, stolen, or lost due to the actions of said cheesed*ck, has you righteously cheesed?

If I understand you correctly, your indignation is entirely warranted (cheese).

He's not being prosecuted for lifting the cheese stick, but for his reaction after being confronted.

Reminds me of the story from a few days ago about a guy who got caught stealing a pack of socks from WalMart.

Once confronted, he pulled a gun and was charged with attempted murder, IIRC.

Instead of taking the fine for a misdemeanor, he decided to up the ante to a felony.

Idiots, what are you gonna do

If he's like everyone else in this county, I'm sure he will learn from his mistakes and steal something worth more next time around.
