Tennessee Senate Overrides Restaurant Carry Veto

Recommended Posts

Well this is the first time I've watched this. Obviously I don't understand a lot of what is going on...

So after watching for about 30 minutes I'm trying to decide if I should keep watching or go pull some fingernails out with pliers.

Who needs waterboarding? We should just pipe this in to cells of terrorists

No that would be considered cruel and unusal punishment.

Sadly......Ditto that:rolleyes:

Bale= Bell

It does gets easier after a few hours;)

Pretty obvious the override will be the last thing they do, it is also pretty obvious that they can get stuff done quick when they want to, they have passed a "bunch" of stuff today.

Yes, but the real question is how much of this 'stuff' really needed to be made into law....

From where I'm sitting very little...

Got a phone call from Rep Todd. It will be one of the last things done tonight. Might be 10 pm, but they are staying for awhile!

So if they veto is overridden tonight, what then? Is it law when the gavel is struck? Is it law at 12:01am? Can we all go down to the Sunset Grill before Randy gets the sign up?

When does the law go into effect?

Does he not have an effective sign already?

Well the bill says it become effective immediately on becoming law...

The question is, when does it become law....

The moment it is overridden

After both Speakers sign that there was an override vote

After it is submitted to the Secretary of State for Public Chapter assingment... ???

Moved to message calender? good bad I've never watched! we have got to be getting closer. I would hope

Overall indifferent I think....they have to get through all of the calendars before the get to unfinished business which is when it will come up.

So don't guess it really matters which order or how they get through the calendars...

Its supposed to become law the minute the overiding vote takes place, and its signed by the Speaker.

Im still betting they file suit against it Monday!

I think your right....on both accounts probably..

As far as the suit though....let them file...see no reason for an injunction to be issued and don't see any merit in it when it is heard.

But just in case....everyone enjoy dining out this weekend...

We wonder whats wrong with our government, watching this feed makes me sick sometimes.

We never listened to the radio growing up. My dad, his sisters and my grandmother all had scanners. Heard it all the time back then!

I dispatched in Decatur Co for long time (Parsons PD, DCSO then E-911) used to say there was 12,000 residents in the county and 24,000 scanners...lol

Memphis is a big city. And my dad walked around this place like it was a small town. I swear he knew several cops in every station and fireman/emt on every shift at every station. If there were lights and sirens, dad was following them and knew someone on the scene. I probably should have gone into one of those professions.
