I think you have a great list there but...

Is there any reason that you are choosing a commercial stock? You will have more options (should you decide to change later) if you run a mil spec tube.

Go with the milspec stock. It is also my understanding that a milspec receiver extension tube will hold up better under hard use (such as advanced carbine classes) and is less likely to fail in a manner that can damage your lower receiver.

well if thats the case then DSG has this and itll save me like 50 bucks so im under 900 for a complete AR, i updated the list with the Magpul MOE Kit which includes, Milspec stock, MOE pistol grip, MOE carbine handguards, mil-spec buffer tube, latch plate, nut, buffer spring and carbine buffer. MOE stock includes buttpad

MAGPUL Moe Kit - Black

Just realized that you need to wait on that kit. You are ordering a mid length upper so the handguard in that kit would be too short. Plus, the magpul midlength MOE handguard isn't going to be out until later this year.

That has carbine length handgaurds so your Magpul HG will fit.

However, if a mid is what you wanted, since you're going with BUS, you could cut the front sight and put a lowpro gas block and use a midlength HG

is this the correct upper? i think i bookmarked the wrong one

Spikes Tactical Complete M4 5.56/.223 Upper Receiver

This upper is a carbine length gas system and would work with the MOE kit.

This is a mid length upper. The gas system is two inches longer on this one. (mid-length is my personal preference).

Spikes Tactical Complete Mid-Length 5.56/.223 Upper Receiver

My personal rifle. CMMG lower, CMMG lower parts kit, CMMG midlength upper with 16 inch barrel, YHM midlength handguards, harris bipod, hogue grip, Aimpoint CompM2.

I am most likely going to completely change this rifle soon. I am going to use an 18 inch bull barrel, scope it and put on a rifle length handguard to completely cover the gas block and then do a Magpul PRS stock.

LOL that was the upper i posted that you said wouldnt work with the handguard

No sir. Look at your link and mine at the same time. My link is a Midlength gas system and yours is a carbine length. I know they look the same but they are different.

this was your first post talking about the upper and i still have not edited my upper from the list. i then went and copied the link to the only other spikes upper AIM has which was the M4 one then you linked me to my original mid length upper lol

A carbine length is ~7 inches. That is what will work with the current MOE handguard.

A mid-length gas system is ~9 inches. Magpul is releasing MOE handguards for this later this year. Look at the pictures to see how much of the barrel is covered and you can see the difference. I don't know much about the performance difference between the two. I just prefer the look of the mid-length system.

Also, both uppers in this thread already have a front sight so you can take that off your list. Or, you can get a railed gas block and use the magpul flip ups instead of the FSB.

No. The Magpul handguards are designed to use the m4 style handguard clip thingies. Sorry, I don't know what its called. Those will be in the wrong place.

You could put a free float mid-length tube like a railed forearm over a carbine gas system though. You would just need to get a low profile gas block.

Ok well Ill start working on getting the other parts first and leave the MOE kit and upper as last and see what happens. i know it probably sounds stupid to wait on a 30 dollar handguard but i like how streamlined it is

Ill prob still order the MOE kit soon now that I think about it cause the handguards are only 30 bucks and that kit includes the parts needed for the mil spec stocks and i can always sell the other handguard
