Obligatory concealed carry holster thread

Recommended Posts

Metal what is that made of,and how do you mold it?

I use an IWB holster that I made out of Kydex. I put pictures here once, but have modified it since, with leather and sturdier clips, somewhat like the C-TAC.

I also use a SmartCarry at times. Sometimes it is in the intended place, and sometimes I put it around my lower chest, under my shirt, with my pistol under my left arm.

I also pocket carry my Glock 26 sometimes, although it is pretty heavy with 11 rounds loaded.

I intend to buy some leather very soon, and will be making my own leather OWB, and maybe IWB.

 you really feel safe with a gun hanging on your tube steak?and a glock to add!

For IWB Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe & Comp-Tac MTAC - although I prefer the Crossbreed for the most part over the MTAC - just a little more comfortable.

For OWB it is a Blackhawk CQC w/Serpa.

We gun owners are very biased regarding our holsters - almost like bringing up politics. There are a bunch of great holsters - and a few really bad ones out there.

Good thread to bring back every now & then - get to view bunches of opinions and sometimes stumble on a new maker.

Absolutely! My Glock has never fired without a finger on the trigger, and it never will. I would be totally ignorant if I thought otherwise. So, I keep my finger off the trigger until ready to fire. That's just basic safety that I learned at age 8.

I like the OWB Fobus holster, however reading posts on another gun forum about fours years ago, the issue came-up regarding the ease of breaking the Fobus OWB holster during a gun grab.

Meaning, that if someone forcefully pulled on either the holster or the gun within the holster during a gun grab, the Fobus holster snaps apart. Someone had posted pictures of the plastic breaking around the rivets.

Even some gun instructors joined the thread to say that they would not trust Fobus OWB due to the ease of breaking the holster.

I tried OWB from BladeTech and Comp-tac. The Comp-tac OWB holster did a better job staying on your hip and secure to your pants. Also Comp-tac maintained a better cant than the BladeTech.

YMMV
