Finished an LMT build, and was given a 1911 knife by Willis68, thought I would share some pics. The Springfield is shop property, Kimbers are my personal preference. The Pro Carry belongs to my girl, the Compact is my EDC.

LMT Specs:

Full-length MRP upper, 16" barrel chambered in 6.8 SPC, "enhanced" bolt.

LMT 2-stage trigger.

KNS Anti-rotation pins, Gen 2 Mod 2.

MIAD grip/triggerguard, with bolt/firing pin core.

Troy flip-up HK style front sight.

GG&G multiple-aperture rear sight.

PRI "Big Latch" on factory charging handle.

*Coming mods: Black UBR stock, EoTech 516 and 3x magnifier, and YHM or Troy flash-hider or brake.

(Yes, I know it's pictured with a 5.56 magazine and 5.56 rounds . . . my SSA ammo is on the way!)

Knife Specs:

Blackened CPM S30V blade, had a pretty good factory edge.

Checkered rosewood grips with Eagle Globe & Anchor, from Kimber.

I'm not authorized to carry a pistol, as I'm only a Lance Corporal, and even then it's a Beretta 92 / M9 . . . When my unit deploys to Afghanistan, I'm taking my new 1911 and my Kabar. I get the feeling both will serve me well. (Thanks again, Steve!)

That rifle is awesome guys. Although its incredibly weird looking down that monorail. Very nice bubba! I've been eyeballing those knives for a while. I want to check it out next time I see you.

Just curious - if you are not authorized to carry a pistol, how can you take one that is not government issue into a "combat" zone?

Not saying you shouldn't just questioning it.

Nice setups by the way.

Man, that's some great looking equipment. I see some reloading stuff in your future :D

You just about have to reload 6.8 to afford to shoot it in quantity, but, it's worth it.

Nice toys!

By 1911 I think that he means the knife with the 1911 grips.

Mike, you're correct. :meh:

Thanks for the advice, 6.8. I'm working on a couple more projects, then I'm going to start saving for a bench and brass.

Very nice setup! That is a really cool knife, and the 1911s are wonderful, too. I don't know much about the LMT (Lewis Machine and Tool?), but it looks slick.
