Any Harley-Davidson Riders On Here?

I am looking to buy a "New" 2009 V-Rod, which will be the first bike I've bought/ridden since my 650 Seca (SP) that I had in 1984. I'm looking for impressions on the V-Rod choice. I don't care for the look of the "baggers" or the old school looking bikes. I pretty much sat on every different version of bike that they had at the dealership, and the V-Rod was the most comfortable. This bike is to be used to drive back and forth from work, running errands that do not require the use of my truck, and maybe day cruises around the area. No passengers except maybe a short ride, (my wife is NOT going to get on the bike ever).

nice bikes but not comfortable to me IMO. I prefer the baggers the vrods you set up on instead of down in the seat. but either way youll still be ridin, and once your ole lady rides it once and feels the rumble between them legs youll never go anywhere with out her.

I have ridden only one V-Rod and while it did seem to ride well, it just wasnt very comfortable. I also would HATE trying wrench on that thing. LOL If it strikes your fancy, go for it.

That'll never happen. She doesn't like me getting a bike, but she's ok with it. I'm sure an "I told you so!" is in my future somewhere. I'm taking the riding class to stave-off that comment. :shake:

The v-rod is pretty dependable. I rode my buddies bike. He hasen't had any trouble with it. I ride a 1999 Heritage Springer. I'm into the old school bikes.

Great idea on the safety course. I try to take one MSF course every other year to keep my skills sharp. Advanced, two-up and police type.

Good luck.
