I know we have some here, but I can't remember who you are ATM. I got a good friend who is looking to enlist and needs some info. He has a GED with AFROTC. Any suggestions?

What service is he interested in? The Army is frozen right now. Even for prior services. They are getting all they want. Most have some college. Infantry and EOD are hiring. But you have to be solid.

He has a GED and a little college credit. He isn't too picky. Is there a recruiter or someone you would suggest he talk too. On paper he maybe not the best, but he is a (as Blubbering Biden would say) a clean cut articulate black man.;) Works hard and is great shape. Street smart kinda guy.

He can go to the local recruiting office in his area and start the process. I don't know any active duty recruiters. Any of them can see if he even has a chance. I'm active

reserve and it is still difficult.

Ohhhh watch them military recruiters!! First thing I did after basic was go back and tell my recruiter he lied!! He said, "No, you didn't ask the right questions." ;)

But good luck to your friend, I'm sure one branch of service will take him.

Smith,

I am not, nor have I ever been a recruiter. With that said, may I suggest that your buddy talk to EACH of the services recruiters and have each of them offer up what they have for him. I retired from the Navy, and as with anything there is good and bad in anything one does. After he talks to each service, have him compare every offer and then make a decision. If your buddy has any service specific questions, I am sure there are enough of us that could offer up some advice.

Has he taken that ASVAB yet? If not, he needs to get that done. That will determine which jobs he is eligible for and may make picking a service easier.
