Anybody use Cellular South?

OK, so I'm sitting in Lexington, TN with NO CELL SERVICE because T-Mobile doesn't have coverage here. I'm getting kind of tired of not having service when I travel anywhere besides a "major city" even though their advertising makes you think they have service dang near everywhere. With what I'm paying, you'd think I'd have service anywhere (especially in a town big enough to have a wally world!).

I'm looking at going with Cellular South. The maps on their website look good for future traveling. And the best part is that they'll pay my early termination fees when I transfer to their service.

Anybody here have Cellular South? If so, what do you think of it?

T-mobile and Cellular south? Why not just go with 1 of the proven companies with great reception?

I love my Droid from Verizon, service is excellent.

I love my Droid from Verizon, service is excellent.

Mainly because I don't want to pay the $200 per line early termination fee.

My work PDA is a Verizon Droid and I like it a lot. I can text on it (only thing keeping me floating right now), but it's not connected as a phone. Now if Verizon would only pay my fees...

And who else is one of the "proven companies"? ATT was my last carrier and they stunk royally.

Only ever had AT&T. They never messed with me, so I never mess with them.

So you are provided with a Droid from the PD but not as a phone? Could you not just offer to upgrade the droid and pay the difference?

And where does the $200 termination fee come from?

Correct. It uses a program to complete reports, run tags & dl's, etc and it has full data, but no phone.

I've asked, but they will not allow it. All of our PDAs and the service are paid for on a grant.

And where does the $200 termination fee come from?

I'm under contract with T-Mobile until 12/27/2010. If I cancel now, the ETF is $200 per line. Within 6 months of the end, it's $100 per line. Within 90 days of the end of contract, it's $50 per line. :D

"I need one cellular service.......its for a cop." Verizon sucks if you are out in BFE.

There is a good sized "hole" in Bartlett, but outside of that spot, everyone I know who has Verizon is satisfied...

dang, sounds like you stuck.

Well, maybe. Maybe not. That's why I was asking about Cellular South. :D

Yeah, but do they carry mirrored shades with the mirrors on THE INSIDE?

You don't need those anyway. You should be afraid of what you might see if you looked into yourself... :D

I had T-mobile and was not impressed with it, especially going to my grandparents town in middle tennessee which was pretty much BFE and I never got any reception until I hit cookeville then I'd lose it again until I got to Crossville then it'd be a steady reception after that.

When my contract expired with Tmobile, I went back to US Cellular...been happy with it since.

Thank you for a post that is on topic! I might have to check into US Cellular, but I don't think they're big in the Memphis area.

With Verizon, I assume?

Yes. I also had Nextel. Same story. That might have changed in the past couple of years, though. West TN is a scary and humid place. You might look into whatever brands of phone the Walmart in the area you are going to sells. I bet they don't carry a bunch of phones that won't get any signal in the area where the store is located.

Welcome. Figured I'd divert those thread hijackers away for a min before I shoot 'em. :D haha jk.

One plus side about USC is that you get free incoming calls, no matter what so if you get alot of incoming calls, its free!
