Shorty Shotgun ideas

I have a old Mossberg 20ga pump that has a long fixed full choke barrel. The forearm wood broke and I bought a plastic forearm replacement. It's not a great looking gun and I really don't have a use for it. I took it in on trade and probably couldn't get 100.00 if I sold it. I was thinking about cutting the barrel off and putting either a folding stock or maybe just a pistol grip on it. I have heard that the pistol grips are pretty useless, but I am not using this as a entry weapon. It would be kept as home defense or maybe "tent" defense while camping. I really don't want to put a lot into it, but I am tired of seeing it sit unused in the safe with no plans for it.

What should I do with it?

Pistol grip is OK for short distance with a lot of practice shooting from the hip. They make rail fore grips that allow light and or laser and vertical grip as well. There is a colapsible stock and even folding collapsible stocks. I have a top folder with pistol grip/ vertical fore grip with built in laser light. The folding stock with pistol grip would probably be the better choice. You can order a short barrel from Mossberg. They are available but you have to call!
