Homemade decoy's

Recommended Posts

I have been messing around making homemade decoys and was wondering if anyone else has any ideas. I started making crow decoys out of wire cloth hangers. I haven't used them in the field yet but I am going to try them out. Here is a link on how to make them. I have been trying to make them look more realistic and have a few good ideas so when I finish I will post a pic and details once I get it the way I want it to look. If you have any tips on making any homemade decoys please share.

That looks like a good design. I've never seen any like that. I've seen silhouette crow decoys made out of 1/4" plywood and painted black though. I like yours better. I've got a neighbor that loves to hunt crows. He makes it pretty hard on'em too. I still see a lot of'em though.

Homemade Crow Decoys

Hey 101, I don't know anything about making the decoys, but I find out this afternoon what will bring them in droves. While on a coyote stand, inside the tree line, I hit the "Screaming Gray Fox" on my FoxPro electronic call, and they were diving down through the trees! I let them leave and did it three times, just to make sure I was seeing it right. Within no time, after I hit the call, here they all came back ready to rumble! They were upset!

Just info I thought I'd pass along.

Yeah I am going to mainly use these when I coyote hunt. Crows are like mother natures alarm system if a coyote sees crows on the ground then he feels less cautious. I love it when crows gather around me when I coyote hunt. Also coyotes are curious and will come to the sound of crow gatherings.
