Doubtless if we are outnumbered in this poll then the CA and it's Scripps-Howard 'sister' papers (such as the Knoxville News-Sentinel) will print an article talking about how results of 'a recent poll conducted by this paper' indicate that the majority of Tennesseeans support Bredesen's veto. If we have the greater numbers, however, it will simply be brushed off as an 'unscientific' poll that really doesn't mean anything.

Poll: Do you agree with Gov. Bredesen's veto of the bill to allow guns in Tennessee bars?

Yes 186 64%

No 107 35%

Well, the poll results so far don't surprise me at all. When you consider that it's very likely that most Memphis inhabitants are getting some sort of government assistance and want something for nothing, therefore liberal in their views, this poll isn't shocking at all. These are the same people who actually believe the police will arrive in time to stop the crime.

When you come across some sort of gov. assistance that is truly helping Memphis climb out of its muddy hole, be sure to start a thread for all to see. It's not likely when you consider we had the near-lowest return rate of the census form for the whole U.S.

Just read the comments in the CA on the veto - some of those folks are just plain nuts.
