Some Dem just asked for a recess after the announcements for the Dem caucus. I smell a rat.

Shouldn't be too long actually...looks like a lot, but it's not really.

Well that was before I knew everyone had to say bye to each other......

Greaaaatttt, recess until 11:30am. Nothing like running the clock out on the House session. House has no sessions scheduled after today.

Should in the Senate, not feeling good about the House because of the timing.

Base salary is $18,123. However they can collect alot more money. They are given up to 141 dollars per day per diem and another 1000 per month to maintain a "legislative office."

Kyle announced that the recess was for both dems and repubs to discuss the budget matters. You never know, but I think they know how the override vote is going to go and just want to discuss strategy on how they can spend more, go up on our taxes, etc.

Probably not late enough today, but they have 3 more days they can meet.

Bredesen's "Hail Mary pass" may give him the win.

no kidding I was expecting more

But you realize that they normally only go 90 days in a year. Of course, that doesn't count travel time. But heck, I do alot of work for my own company in which I don't charge the client and don't get paid for. So they make $201 a day if you divide the money among 90 days of "work."

well, house will meet tomorrow it sounds like according to the video......so maybe it can still get veto....doesn't need to happen today, but needs to happen

My guess is the recess is a ploy to make sure that the House adjourns before the Senate has a chance to override the veto. Political gaming at its finest. They can't defeat the bill with legit arguments so they are trying every bit of political gaming and hackery they can muster.
