This is not a iPhone vs Droid vs Blackberry vs Palm vs ???? debate.

This is a thread about apps, you have found, to be great. Whether it is a GPS, Game, Weather, checkbook, etc, doesn't matter. Can be business, time management, fun, whatever. I think this will be good and we might be able to discover some new apps that are helpful in our lives.

What is your favorite apps and why? What is cool about them.

I got rid of my super dooper fancy pants phone because I was tired of paying the insane bill, but the shazaam app was pretty cool. It would "listen" to whatever music could be heard and tell you who sang it, the title, album, etc. No more "what's the name of this song???" moments.

I have an iphone and the app i use most is called Balance. Its just a very basic app that is basically a check register. Works great for me.

Other apps that I know i like are Bulletflight from Knights Armament, Flixter (for movie info including showtimes), directv, allrecipes, photobucket, wootwatch, espn scorecenter, Constitution, Dictionary, Google Earth, The Weather Channel, Shakespeare, Units, Speedtest, myWireless from AT&T, Shottimer, Fart for free (farting machine, i couldnt help it), Unblock, mancala, chess, checkers, and blackjack 21

Pandora Radio is cool because it links the stations you have on your computer and on your phone. Others I use regularly are coin flip, flashlight, google maps, photobucket, weatherbug and of course the AK-47 app.

Flixter - Movie info and showtimes

directv - Use it to check tv showtimes and setup dvr recordings

allrecipes - database of recipes. I use it to plan meals for the week and shopping trips

photobucket - upload images from my phone to my photobucket

wootwatch - view woot.com to see the daily deal

espn scorecenter - complete listing of sports scores and schedules. customizable to list only preferred sports

Constitution - the constitution word for word

Dictionary - links to dictionary.com to easily and quickly search for word spellings and definitions

Google Earth - self explanatory

The Weather Channel - self explanatory

Shakespeare - the complete works of William Shakespeare

Units - Conversion calculator for just about every unit of measure

Speedtest - mobile version of speedtest.net

myWireless from AT&T - account information

Shottimer - times sounds so you can see if your follow up shots are getting quicker

Fart for free - farting machine

Unblock - puzzle

mancala - self explanatory

chess - self explanatory

Just got the 2.1 Android upgrade on my HTC Eris. They finally added the Navigator app (GPS) that was promised when the Eris first came out.

Other Apps I really find useful/interesting are:

Google Sky Map - uses your GPS location to map the night sky and display all visible constellations

Google Maps - self explanatory

Fox News Widget - shows most recent news headline

Tip Calc - calculates tip for one or more people

Cleartune - Guitar tuner - Honestly the best tuner I have ever used

More Cowbell - You gotta have more cowbell

KJV Bible - Self explanatory

Scanner 911 - Police, Fire, etc.. Scanner

Speak it! - Says whatever I type into the app.

Groups - Organize your contacts in groups

Memphis Zoo - App that is helpful while visiting the Zoo

i-C3 - News channel 3 app, local news

Haunted Roller Coaster- Awesome game

I have quite a few apps, but these are my favorites and most used.

a2z - conversions. infinitely expandable with the ability to program your own conversion formulas in.

Implode - Precision Demolition game

Angry Birds - Fun game, hard to get the stages done with a perfect 3 star reward

Geo Defense and Geo Defense Swarm - Awesome tower based defense game. Swarm is insanely hard.

Ragdoll blaster and Ragdoll Blaster 2 - Fun physics based puzzle shooting game lots of interesting levels.

I Can Has CHeezburger - lolcats, loldogs, epic fail, thereifixedit all in one.

Blocked - 2d puzzle game. makes me want to throw the phone against the wall sometimes

Paper toss - throw paper into a trash can with a fan blowing the paper around. Great time waster based off a great office game. Less messy though.

PhillyD Official - funny guy on youtube. Keeps it all together so I don't have to go searching for vids.
