Colt. It has a horsey on it.

I bought a Colt becuase they were the original maker of the 1911 and make a fine pistol. Plus I got a great deal on it. It is absolutely reliable and very accurate. It is factory spec. I have not done any modifications to it. All the CBOB fans will tell you that you need $1800+ to have a good 1911. All that talk don't mean diddly squat.

One thing about a 1911 is that it is a hobbie gun as well as a personal protection weapon. They are also fun to shoot and fun to dress up... Like a Barbie doll of shooters.

Really!:doh:I can't believe you are the first one to recommend a COLT. They've only been making them for about 100 years now. I imagine they've about figured out how to do it by now.

^^ Yeah we will get together soon for sure. Guys thanks for all of the help and input! I ordered a Dan Wesson V-Bob earlier today and will hopefully have it in my hands by end of next week. I'm super stoked!

Congrats on the VBOB. Did you get the SS or the black Duty Coat? This is the gun that essentially replaces the now California-only CBOB. You made a good move!

I got the SS. The black duty coat is awesome though and I would love to pick up one down the road, they're just hard to find and more money. But you're right. I think the biggest difference in these and the CBOBs is basically that more of the parts are made in house by DW now and other small changes.

Forged frame and no MIM parts. This is a significant step up from CBOB to VBOB, and I'm still a big CBOB fan. It's worth the extra cash. WTG!

Picked her up today! I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet and I'm going out of town for a week tomorrow but will be sure to give it a thorough workout when I return! :panic: The fit and finish on the gun is very good, I hope this is an indication of how good the gun is in general.

Mac,

You may have been to this site, but it's really good for 1911's. In particular the subforum for DW is pretty good.

Cheers
